And then there was Rafa

Nadal has no reason to reflect on recent loss to number 2, Novak Djokovic, as his absolutely blitzing performance in the Monte Carlo Masters proved the doubts in every fan, player and critic. Rafa and the clay court seem to have some abnormal symbiosis between one another as he looks more and more unbeatable on the clay. After beating Ljubicic in straight sets and making the unseeded player look like he has a lot more to learn before taking on the number player himself, it seems that Nadal is far from recovering a loss but rather opening a can of worms of an unbeatable attitude. He now advances into the semi finals where undoubtedly he will further prove why he is and always be the king of the clay court.

Serena Back In the Game!

Former no.1 Serena Williams will be back to hit some balls as she has her first practice since her fourth single victory at the Wimbledon. She had an injury on her right foot on July 7, 2010, in a restaurant at Germany and later she was diagnosed with blood clots in her lungs needing treatment for a hematoma. I am glad that she is now back practicing in the field and I hope she gets better a lot sooner as I can't wait for her to play tennis again. However she  hasn’t confirmed anything about her return to the WTA competition.

Dokic out of Fed Cup playoff

Australia's favourite female tennis international (Jelena Dokic) has withdrawn from Australia's Fed Cup campaign. Tennis Australia were informed on Sunday night that Dokic would miss the tie due to exhaustion and was taking some time off to recover.

This is devestating not only for Jelena but also for all her fans including me!!! After making a miraculous return to the tennis arena, she won everybody's heart in an outstanding performance at the 2009 Australian Open. Unfortunately she wasn't able to progress past the quarter finals, nevertheless she proved that a fierce competitor existed within her heart. Overall, with Samantha Stosur opting to focus on her French Open build-up, Australia has taken a deep blow in their quest for the Fed Cup.
